Our Purpose:
Collegium
Study Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to provide an
opportunity for like-minded home schoolers to study together so that we may
inspire one another to love God in tota mente tua.*
We wish to
help each other study the great classics of our Western Christian tradition,
along with other important subjects which train our minds to think clearly and
understand the society in which we live.
Through all of this we hope to
be able to pass down an education to our children that glorifies God.
*and with all
of your mind. Matthew 22:37

Our Story:
In 2001, our
founder, Beth Harvey, organized a group of classically homeschooling parents to
begin reading through the Great Books of the Western canon. Our goal was to meet
monthly to discuss the books and prepare ourselves to teach our
children. Realizing that classical education is not an easy path for
most of us, in 2003 Mrs. Harvey expanded on her idea and organized a study
center. It began as a place for students to get help with the core of
classical education: Latin, logic, and the study of Western civilization. We've grown since then and added several other classes, expanded the group
to include younger students, and graduated several of our children. What
hasn't changed is our commitment to making classical Christian education a
reality again for future generations.
Our Great Books Reading Club
still meets the last Thursday of every month and interested parents are welcome
to join!
